How to watch TV

Regarding viewing of terrestrial digital broadcasting (TV)

By connecting this unit to a smartphone, tablet, etc. via wireless LAN, you can watch the mobile device service "One Seg" and Japan's domestic terrestrial digital broadcasting service "Full Seg" (not available overseas).

  • ※When you purchase the product, "One Seg/Full Seg Switch" is set to "Fixed to One Seg."
  • ※To watch TV, you will need to install a TV viewing application.

Download the dedicated app

This app is a dedicated TV viewing app. By connecting a compatible device and smartphone, you can enjoy high-definition, full-segment terrestrial digital TV.

This unit receives television broadcast waves via a television antenna.

  • ※You may be able to improve your television reception by fully extending your television antenna and reorienting or moving it to another location.

Connecting your smartphone to this unit via wireless LAN

Setting channels on your Android™ device (first time use)

When you start the device for the first time, the initial setup (channel scan) will begin.

  • ※Depending on the TV reception level and the condition of this unit and smartphone, channel scanning may not be possible.

  • ※You can tap "Rescan" to run the channel scan again.
  • ※If the channel scan fails, try again in a location where the TV signal can be received more easily, such as near a window.

Watch TV

Precautions when using the TV

TV Antennas

  • ※Make sure to fully extend the TV antenna before using it. If it is not fully extended, you may not be able to receive TV broadcasts.

Receiving One-Seg/Full-Seg

  • ※Depending on the usage environment, such as when moving or outside a reception area, reception may not be possible. In addition, even if you are in an environment where you can receive One Seg, you may not be able to receive Full Seg. If "One Seg/Full Seg Switching" is set to "Full Seg Priority", the system will automatically switch to One Seg when Full Seg cannot be received.

Notes on use

  • ※Please do not watch TV while riding a bicycle, riding a motorbike, or driving a car. Also, please be aware of surrounding traffic when walking.

About Channel Scan

  • ※If the frequency of a broadcasting station has changed, or if the channel cannot be registered correctly in the regional settings depending on the region, please perform a channel scan again.

Content Rights Protection

  • ※This unit uses a "content rights protection dedicated system" (software system) as a mechanism for protecting the rights of content for terrestrial digital television broadcasting. Therefore, a B-CAS card is not required. For inquiries regarding the "content rights protection dedicated system" (software system), please contact the General Incorporated Association of Terrestrial Broadcasting RMP Management Center.
