How to set up e-mail for mobile phones (PHS)

We offer a variety of features to make your mobile phone (PHS) e-mail service convenient and safe. All of these can be easily set up from the online sign-up screen.

Change email address function

You can change your email address from your mobile phone (PHS).
Please use this service if you are having trouble with spam emails.
It is generally said that changing your address to one that combines letters and numbers or has a longer number of characters will make it less likely that spam will be delivered.

  • You can change your email address up to three times per day.
  • Once an address is obtained, it cannot be reused.
  • Once the address change is complete, you will no longer be able to receive emails sent to your old address.
    (You can still receive emails sent to your old address that were stored at the center before the address change.)

How to change it

  • Please note that the change procedure will not be complete unless you confirm the "Settings Complete" screen.

Automatic email reception

This is a service that enables your phone to automatically receive emails that arrive in your mailbox.

  • You cannot sign up for both automatic e-mail reception and new e-mail notifications at the same time.
  • If you are out of range or your phone is turned off, notifications will be sent repeatedly for up to 10 hours and 40 minutes (no notification fee).

Email notifications

The center will check your mailbox on your behalf, and if there is any relevant email, the center will notify you by light mail to your phone.

New mail notification You will be notified when new mail arrives in your mailbox.
Receiving limit email notification You will be notified if your mailbox is full or if new emails cannot be stored.
  • You cannot sign up for both automatic e-mail reception and new e-mail notifications at the same time.
  • If you are out of range or your phone is turned off, notifications will be sent repeatedly for up to 12 hours (no notification fee).

Email forwarding

How to change it

Forwards a copy of the email you receive to another email address you specify.
Even if you specify forwarding, the email will remain in your mailbox, so you will be able to view it from your Y! Mobile Y!mobile.

Delete attachment

You can delete files attached to emails sent from your computer or forwarded from your home or office. This saves you time and packet charges by not receiving unnecessary attachments.

  • You can also receive attachments sent from Y!mobile phones or other mobile phones without deleting them.
  • The names of up to 10 deleted files will be listed at the end of the email body.

Stop email accumulation

How to change it

You can set it so that new emails do not accumulate when you are away on a long trip or business trip and cannot check your email. If an email arrives during that period, an email will be delivered to the sender's mailbox stating that "the email could not be sent because you have stopped receiving emails," and the sender will be informed that you have not seen the email.
