How exercise data is calculated

How do you calculate your steps?
Android™ smartphone
Step count information is obtained using the "Google Fit API" installed on your smartphone.

iPhone
Your step count information is collected using the "Health" and "Motion and Fitness" features on your iPhone.
How do you calculate walking distance?
Walking distance is calculated by multiplying the number of steps by stride length.
The stride length is determined according to the gender you set. (Male: 65cm, Female: 55cm, Other/No input: 60cm)
If you change your gender, it will be reflected in the calculations after midnight the next day.
Please use the displayed walking distance as a guide only.
How do you calculate calories burned?
Calories burned are calculated as 1.05 x 3.5 x (number of steps ÷ 6,000) x body weight (kg).
In the formula, "1.05" is the resting energy expenditure per hour for an adult weighing 1 kg, "3.5" is the METs value for walking, and "(number of steps ÷ 6,000)" is the approximate exercise time calculated based on 6,000 steps per hour.
If you change your weight setting, it will be reflected in the calculations from midnight onwards. Please use the displayed calorie consumption as a guide only.
*METs values are taken from the revised "Physical Activity METs Table" by the National Institute of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition.
