SIM unlock procedure

To use a product sold by Y!mobile with a SIM card from another company, you will need to unlock the SIM. The unlocking method varies depending on whether you have a communication contract with Y!mobile and where you purchased the product.

 

To customers who applied to transfer between brands on or after Wednesday, August 18, 2021

If you are switching between brands from Y!mobile to SoftBank or LINEMO, we will simultaneously carry out the SIM unlock procedure for the Y!mobile product you were using before the switch, so there is no need for you to request a SIM unlock procedure.

  • *Excludes products with network usage restrictions.

If any of the following customers have a SIM-locked device, we ask that you please unlock the SIM in advance through My Y!mobile.

  • Customers who plan to use SoftBank or LINEMO eSIM* on the Y! Y!mobile device they are using before switching
    *This applies to eSIMs purchased through the online shop.

To customers who have purchased

If you purchase a SIM unlock compatible product, the SIM unlock procedure will be performed at the time of purchase. There is no need for you to request the procedure.
